WHAT IS SAMPLING?

- Sampling is a procedure by which some member of population are selected as a representative of entire population.

- A way of accurately representing the variability among a large population through the study of a small number selected from the large population.

WHAT IS POPULATION?

- The entire group of all units of analysis whose characteristics are to be estimated.

- ( In sampling ) The whole collection of units from which sample maybe drawn; not necessarily a population of persons; the units maybe institutions, records, or events. The sample is intended to give results that are representative of the whole population.
